Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: September 2026
Our Commitment
Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission (“AGRM” or “the Mission”) is committed to providing a welcoming and accessible website for people of all abilities.
Our mission is grounded in compassion, dignity, and service. We believe people should be able to learn about AGRM, request information, explore programs, view stories, and access donation or volunteer opportunities without encountering unnecessary digital barriers.
Accessibility Goal
AGRM is working toward aligning this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) 2.2, Level AA.
These guidelines provide recommendations for making digital content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with disabilities.
Our reference to WCAG represents an ongoing accessibility goal. It should not be interpreted as a claim that every page, feature, document, or third-party service currently meets every WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion.
Measures We Take
As part of our accessibility efforts, we seek to:
-
Use clear page structures and meaningful headings;
-
Provide text alternatives for informative images;
-
Maintain readable color contrast;
-
Support keyboard navigation;
-
Provide visible keyboard-focus indicators;
-
Use descriptive links and button labels;
-
Associate form fields with clear labels and instructions;
-
Communicate form errors in understandable language;
-
Support browser zoom and responsive layouts;
-
Avoid unnecessary motion or provide reduced-motion support;
-
Add captions or transcripts to multimedia when reasonably possible;
-
Use accessible document formats when reasonably possible;
-
Test important website functions with accessibility tools; and
-
Consider accessibility when adding or updating website content.
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, and we expect to make additional improvements as the website, available technology, and accessibility guidance evolve.
Browser and Assistive-Technology Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of commonly used browsers and assistive technologies.
For the best experience, we recommend using a current browser and keeping your operating system and assistive technology updated.
Older browsers, unsupported technology, unusual browser settings, or certain combinations of assistive technologies may produce different results.
Third-Party Content and Services
Some website features may be provided by third parties, such as:
-
Donation and payment forms;
-
Embedded videos;
-
Maps;
-
Social-media content;
-
Event or registration tools;
-
Downloadable documents; and
-
Other external websites or services.
AGRM does not always control the accessibility of third-party platforms. We encourage our vendors and service providers to offer accessible experiences, and we welcome reports about barriers encountered while using those services through our website.
Downloadable Documents
Some older PDFs, newsletters, applications, or other downloadable documents may not yet be fully accessible.
If you need a document in an alternative format, please contact us. We will make a reasonable effort to provide the information in a format that works for you.
Photographs and Multimedia
AGRM’s website includes photographs, stories, and multimedia that communicate the Mission’s work and impact.
We seek to provide useful alternative text for informative images and captions or transcripts for meaningful multimedia when reasonably possible. Decorative images may intentionally have empty alternative text so assistive technologies can skip them.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content or features may not yet provide a fully accessible experience. Potential limitations may include:
-
Older documents that were not originally created for accessibility;
-
Third-party forms, embeds, or payment tools;
-
Archived photographs without complete descriptions;
-
Older videos without captions or transcripts; and
-
Content supplied by outside organizations.
We welcome feedback that helps us locate and correct these barriers.
Accessibility Assistance and Feedback
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the website, please contact AGRM and tell us:
-
The page or feature you were trying to use;
-
The web address of the page, if available;
-
A brief description of the barrier;
-
The browser or assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable sharing it; and
-
The best way to contact you.
We will make a reasonable effort to provide the information, service, or transaction through an accessible alternative and to address the underlying website issue when possible.
